About This Show

Mixtape Beacon is the podcast for people who love music and conversation that’s not controlled and managed by corporate sponsors and consultants. It’s radio the way it was intended to be. When we say “mixtape”, we mean it in the old school way. It’s the product of sitting in front of your turntable with a stack of records and trying to come up with just the right sequence of songs to put on your cassette. Back in the day, we played our mixtape in the car or on our Walkman. The mixtape was our traveling companion who never let us down and put a stamp on the mood we were in or the moment we were living.

The Mixtape Beacon Theme Song is produced by The Illchemist.
